What is Profhilo?

​

It is a revolutionary, beneath the skin hyaluronic acid (HA) moisturising treatment which has prolonged stimulatory activity on the skin’s dermal cells. It stimulates collagen and elastin  to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore firmness to the skin. 

It has one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market so that it not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissues. The most common areas of treatment are the face and neck and it can also be used on the decolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen to effectively treat skin laxity. 

It is more than a skin booster as it also has a tightening effect as well as hydration. 

Profhilo is not a dermal filler. The gel is not crosslinked and will not add any direct volume to the face. 

Who is it suitable for? 

The treatment is suitable for men and women.  

It can treat the signs of ageing. It can also be used preventatively for collagen banking to slow down and delay some of the signs of skin ageing.  

The results from profhilo are super yet subtle. It will give you a wellness glow whilst improving your skin quality,  

Treatment Protocols 

It is usual to start with a course of 2 profhilo treatments 4 (3-6 is also ok) weeks apart. Some people may need or choose to have a third treatment. Maintenance is then typically 1 treatment every 3-4 months.  

Profhilo is injected into Bioaesthetic points (BAP) as a bleb under the skin. There is a slight sting associated with the injection which is short-lived lasting only a few seconds. The bumps usually go within a couple of hours but can be palpable to touch for a couple of days. These do not need massage as they disperse naturally to give optimal skin glow. 

Profhilo can be combined with other aesthetic treatments to optimise and amplify your results. It works well with Morpheus 8 and dermal filler 

Any risks?

Your biggest risk is a little bruise. Most people don’t bruise on the face though you can. Bruising on the neck is not uncommon. This will settle within a few days and is of no concern. 

What is the difference between Profhilo and Profhilo Structura? 

Profhilo Structura is a newer, stronger treatment aimed at deeper subcutaneous layers to lift, contour, and restore lost fat pads. While Profhilo acts as a "skin remodeller" for hydration, Structura acts more like a "structural remodeller" for lifting and enhancing structural integrity where age related volume loss has occurred in the cheeks.  

 Profhilo is injected into the skin for superficial to mid-dermal improvements. Structura is injected deeper into the subcutaneous fat pads using a cannula, targeting the mid-face to address sagging by stimulating fat pad tissue regeneration (adipocytes), whereas original Profhilo stimulates fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin.  

Profhilo is typically injected in five points per side of the face (BAP technique). Structura is usually administered via a cannula in specific areas needing lifting. 

Profhilo: Best for overall rejuvenation, younger patients in their 30s-40s, or those wanting to combat dullness and early signs of ageing. 

Structura: Best for patients with visible sagging, volume loss (e.g., hollow temples or cheeks), or those who have lost subcutaneous fat due to ageing or weight loss, as explained on
